NOTE TO WP USERS: If you are looking for a WordPress store plugin that goes beyond just CafePress, try the WordPress Affiliate Plugin by PopShops. With PopShops you are actually able to POP a product into a post (CafePress included) by clicking a button on your WP WYSIWYG toolbar, something you can't do with this plugin. You can also add affiliate products to your sidebar, footer, a static page, etc. from across all the major networks (LinkShare, Commission Junction, Performics, and ShareASale).
An important distinction, however, is that there are fewer CafePress products in PopShops, so if all you care about is CP, then use the PrestoGifto plugin. If you care about other merchants, then go for PopShops.
This plugin brings together the CafePress API, WordPress and the PrestoGifto API to allow you to layout your products, adjust thumbnail sizes, pick colors, fonts and more. With this plugin, you can choose any of the 59 million products that CafePress sells and put them in your sidebar, after your posts, in your footer or on a full page.
For instance, if you are currently a CafePress shopkeeper, you may choose products from your own CafePress storefronts (search by Store ID) and add them to your blog. If you want to participate in the CafePress affiliate program, you can add your CJ PID and sell anything from the CafePress marketplace.
This plugin will always be in beta since PrestoGifto is not, and never will be, a day job. Thanks, Dan, for putting in your free time to upgrade it.
Install the CafePress WordPress Plugin (beta)
- Download and unzip the plugin
- Upload the PrestoGifto folder from your local machine to your wp-content/plugins folder
- Login to your WordPress account
- Go to admin -> plugins and activate the PrestoGifto plugin
- Go to admin -> options -> PrestoGifto
- Create a PG account and add your CafePress affiliate PID (if you have one)
- Start building your first shop!

- Can I access my CafePress account with this plugin?
- No. CafePress does not make account information available and there is no plugin currently available to directly access your account information. You can, however, browse by shop ID, if you want, and access all your products that way.
- Was this plugin created by CafePress.com?
- No, but CafePress.com is extremely supportive of its community of third party developers.
- Is PrestoGifto an affiliate program?
- No. We're a front end tool that helps you pick products, automatically embed your affiliate information, and build shops using datafeeds.
- Ugh. Dealing with PrestoGifto seems like just another layer of complexity.
- I created this tool because there just wasn't anything like it. And, frankly, I love it. So, all I can say is, until the affiliate programs create their own tools (or people quit their day jobs to create and support third party tools), this was the best option for what I wanted (a simple way to put stuff I liked on my websites.) What you get from going through PrestoGifto is a ton of functionality and the ability to plug CafePress products into any site you own, not just WordPress. If you don't need this kind of functionality then can do it manually (by using an html datafeed generator) or, if you're techie, whip up a tool that works with the CafePress API.
- So, why should I use this tool?
- Well, different people like different things. Mostly, this tool is easy to use. It's made for people who don't want to bother with coding their own stuff. It's a good option for those who don't want to deal with datafeeds or CSS. Also, this tool is fully supported by us. If you have a problem, e-mail us and, your issue will be jumped on immediately.
- How much does PrestoGifto cost?
- CafePress is a 4th click merchant. What this means is that for every 4th click generated from a store towards merchant's web site, we will replace your affiliate PID with ours and subsequently receive affiliate commission should the 4th click convert into a sale. We do this substitution so that we can pay for supporting this tool. If you are a CafePress merchant adding your own products, this substitution has no effect on you because you always earn your shopkeeper mark up.Read more about us.
- If I don't have to pay you money then why do I need to sign up with PrestoGifto?
- You create a login so you can update your shops dynamically, track visits, and customize and save your shops. If you don't mind going into your html/php and doing it manually, then you don't really need this tool. It's like TiVo. You can watch TV without it. You can hack your computer and create your own DVR. You can use RePlay. But I still think TiVo is the easiest to use. Oh, and we're not going to spam you or anything. Signing up with us basically means creating a login to access your account.
